Avocado

Avocado, the fruit of the avocado tree which is native to Central America, was considered sacred by the Aztecs. It was introduced to Europe in the 16th century and nicknamed "the American pear.” Containing vitamins, minerals, proteins and essential fatty acids, avocado is highly nutritious and close to being a complete food.
